For those wondering where Aaron Henry’s mindset is at the moment, he has a leg up on the competition and his sights seem to be squarely set on on a direct path to the NBA.

During the first week of April 2021, Henry has been working tirelessly with renowned NBA skills coach Chris Brickley. He is famous for hosting intense east coast summer runs with superstars Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony, Russell Westbrook, and LeBron James, just to name a few.

Brickley has helped mold players such as Joel Embiid, Donovan Mitchell, James Harden, and Kawhi Leonard from good to elite all-stars. He is unquestionably one of the best trainers in the business.

The social media post below from Brickley has him giving Henry his stamp of approval. This type of exposure will surely boost Henry’s stock tremendously and validation from one of the top private coaches in the world can only enhance his NBA draft profile as professional prospects use the spring to jockey for a chance to be one of 30 names called as coveted first-round NBA draft picks.

Brickley points out Henry’s size, length, athleticism, defensive ability, ball handling, and shot-creating skills. The video showcases Henry’s ability to work out of the pick and roll (which is a staple of countless NBA offensive attacks). If he can start to hit 3-pointers at a higher percentage (he drilled less than 30 percent of his tries from deep this past season), he has a chance to be a terrific NBA player as there are very few holes in his game.

His junior season at MSU put his versatility on full display. He had a stellar year for the Spartans with an impressive overall stat line of 15.4 points per game, 5.6 rebounds per game, 3.6 assists per game, 1.3 steals per game, and 1.3 blocks per game while carrying Michigan State to yet another NCAA tournament. Both his field goal and free throw percentages increased from his sophomore to his junior year.

There aren’t many other college standouts as well-rounded as Henry. His play was a key factor in sparking a remarkable MSU late-season run which saw them defeat three top-five nationally-ranked opponents. There is no doubt that he can thrive under pressure.

He’s projected as a late-first round to mid-second round selection in various mock drafts but he’s off to an outstanding start with his offseason training regimen learning under Brickley. If this ambition and drive keep up from Henry throughout the spring and summer weeks, he could find himself landing on the radar of several more NBA franchises and potentially emerge as the steal of the draft come July 29.
