Pennsylvania wideout Kevin Thomas is a top priority for Michigan State football and Mel Tucker and the staff. Will he end up in the green and white?

This past week, Kevin Thomas a 6-foot-3, 184-pound wide receiver from Philadelphia, Penn., completed a virtual visit with Mel Tucker, Courtney Hawkins and the rest of the Spartan coaching staff.

“It was great,” Thomas said about the virtual visit. “The staff was just telling me that I’m a priority and they think I am a good fit for the program.”

Also, Thomas describes himself as “a playmaker that can take the top off of any defense.”

That’s absolutely no surprise. Thomas is a dynamic player and would bring some elite speed to the offense conducted by Jay Johnson. He tied the national track record as a sophomore in the 60-meter hurdles, posting an impressive time of 7.83 seconds.

Getting Thomas to join the 2022 class won’t be easy though. He is rated a four-star recruit by Rivals and other programs like Oregon, Florida, Texas A&M, Tennessee, West Virginia, Pitt are all after him.

Michigan State is doing a good job of keeping contact with Thomas and making sure that he knows he’s a priority. “I talk to the receiver coach (Courtney Hawkins) and I talk to the on-campus recruiting coordinator (Lisa Ben-Cheim) about two times a week.”

When talking about what Thomas is looking for in a program he said, “Somewhere that can develop me on and off the field and somewhere that has a family atmosphere.”

Michigan State only took Keon Coleman at wide receiver in the 2021 class, so they have plenty of room to add another stud like Thomas to the roster. Landing a big-time recruit like him would attract even more talent to Michigan State.

Keep an eye out for Thomas, as there is a solid chance he ends up a Spartan come signing day.
