Michigan State basketball is gearing up for a rematch with No. 15 Iowa on Saturday afternoon in East Lansing. Will the Spartans get revenge?

Michigan State and Iowa are both playing for something important on Saturday afternoon. For the Spartans, they’re playing for their NCAA Tournament lives. For Iowa, the Big Ten title is on the line after losing 4-of-6 games and looking far more pedestrian of late.

If the Spartans win, their tournament resume gets a huge shot in the arm and if Iowa wins, they get back on track and remain in the hunt for an elusive Big Ten title.

The last time these two teams met last week, Michigan State got off to a red-hot start and built a big lead but Iowa stormed back and it was tight throughout. The Hawkeyes got the last laugh after making some clutch shots late.

Will Michigan State exact revenge on Saturday afternoon?

3. Joey Hauser records double-double

After asking to come off the bench against Penn State, Joey Hauser looked like a completely different and fresh player. He was the player that we saw at the beginning of the year when he was averaging close to a double-double.

Although he didn’t rebound at an impressive clip against the Nittany Lions, he still broke double figures in the scoring column for the first time in a few games.

Hauser had been going through it offensively.

Now that he’s back on track, the junior big man will continue his confident play against Iowa. Will he come off the bench? Probably, if Tom Izzo sees that it might continue to work, but it won’t matter as he’ll play 20-plus minutes anyways. He’ll finish with 14 points and 10 rebounds against the Hawkeyes, including three big 3-pointers.
