There are a number of former Michigan State basketball players in the NBA, but how good would a team of all Spartans actually be?

Over the years, Michigan State has sent plenty of Spartans to the NBA. Tom Izzo has coached some of the best talent in college basketball for years and he’s good at getting guys who are motivated to the next level.

And you might hear from rival fans that “Izzo can’t develop three-star talent” which couldn’t be further from the truth because he currently has two guys in the league who were under-recruited and came to MSU as a three-star or a lesser-known transfer from Cleveland State.

Bryn Forbes transferred to MSU after a two-year career with Cleveland State where he was a sharpshooter, but many believed he wasn’t a power conference talent. He proved the doubters wrong and was part of one of the most prolific offenses in Michigan State history but he went undrafted. Despite that, he caught on with the Spurs as a starter and now the Bucks.

The three-star talent was Draymond Green who committed to Kentucky and flipped to Michigan State but he was an out-of-shape forward who seemed like he needed a lot of work and turned into a national player of the year by his senior year.

Let’s not forget Xavier Tillman and Denzel Valentine who were both ranked outside the top-100 only to be drafted into the NBA.

If Michigan State were to piece together an all-Spartan NBA team, what would it look like and how good would it be?
