Fresh off two straight wins, does our staff believe Michigan State basketball will continue the winning streak against Purdue on Friday?

Michigan State has finally gotten hot. It only took a few weeks, but Michigan State played its best game of the season in a blowout win over No. 15 Rutgers on Tuesday night.

We’ll see how good this team really is with how they respond to a huge win. Sometimes after big games like this, it can either launch the Spartans into a huge winning streak or lead to a massive hangover. Tom Izzo and Spartan Nation are hoping for the former but the Boilermakers will be a tough out.

Like every year, Purdue is hovering around the .500 early on in the season which means that their impressive winning streak is on the horizon. Will that start on Friday night?

Let’s get to the predictions, shall we?

Connor Muldowney: Michigan State finally has momentum again and I didn’t think that would be possible after the loss to Minnesota just last week. Now that the Spartans are starting to look like the Spartans again, I think we’ll see guys like Aaron Henry and Rocket Watts play with confidence. Not only that, but Joey Hauser will get back on track after his mini slump. I see two double-doubles on Friday night (from Hauser and Henry) and a hot-shooting night from 3-point range for the Spartans.

Final Score: Purdue 63, Michigan State 70

Jack Williams: Aaron Henry has finally gotten going offensively. If he continues to play well, there are very few teams who can keep up with the Spartans. Michigan State will win convincingly against a down-year Purdue team.

Final Score: Purdue 66, Michigan State 77

Carter Landis: Now that Michigan State has won their last two games, they’ll keep it rolling. The team is starting to catch fire, and Purdue is not very good. A win against the Boilermakers keeps the momentum going for a team that may have found its leader in Aaron Henry.

Final Score: Purdue 56, Michigan State 78

Conner Linsner: Michigan State is on a two game winning streak with Aaron Henry playing elite basketball on both ends of the floor. Stopping Trevion Williams down low will be key to getting a win. Since this game isn’t at Mackey and MSU is starting to hit their stride, I’m taking the Spartans.

Final Score: Purdue 67, Michigan State 75

Stephen Robb: Michigan State takes on Purdue and Spartan fans have memories of being trounced by the the Boilermakers. Purdue has a mismatch with Junior Trevion Williams. The key to a Spartan win is getting anything from Malik Hall and Mady Sissoko. Mady could have a break out game. However, I give the edge to Purdue.

Final Score: Purdue 69, Michigan State 66
