1. MSU pulls off the “upset” on the road

Can we really consider one two-win team beating another an “upset”? Not really, but according to Vegas, the Spartans are major underdogs as they head to Happy Valley.

Two wins kind of seemed like the max for this team, maybe three, heading into a conference-only eight-game season, but fans have been pleasantly surprised with the quality of victories. In fact, Mel Tucker led the Spartans on the road to beat Michigan which was ranked in the top 15 at the time and then a victory against undefeated No. 8 Northwestern at home.

Penn State isn’t having the best season as James Franklin and Co. have failed to live up to expectations through seven games with a 2-5 record. The Nittany Lions started the year 0-5 and won the last two, but Franklin has been hearing it from fans and alumni.

That pressure has continued to mount and it’ll lead to a letdown in the season finale despite having some momentum. The Spartans will pull off the road “upset” to win their third game of the year and head into a crossover game against a team like Minnesota with some confidence.

Imagine a 4-4 finish to the year for Tucker.
