Mel Tucker has been open about using the transfer portal for Michigan State football. Who are some players who the Spartans could go after?

Michigan State football hired Mel Tucker in February and not too long after the whole world shut down, eliminating the opportunity for the Spartans to hold spring practices.

When a new coaching staff is brought in, there typically is attrition and sometimes there is a lot of it.  Since Tucker was not able to have any spring practice to see where some players stand on the depth chart, nobody had entered the transfer portal.

As it stands today, Michigan State has had multiple players enter the portal themselves, and it’s safe to say one can expect that number to keep growing as roles get carved out through the rest of the season.

Since Michigan State is going to have to replace some of its two-deep players, why not look in the transfer portal to add some talent that can compete for a spot to play immediately? In fact, even Tucker is not opposed to this idea.

Since the coaching staff is going to be turning over rocks all over the country to find talent to play at Michigan State, let’s take a look at three players that Michigan State should target in the transfer portal.
