Michigan State Basketball: Game-by-game predictions for December 2020

Western Michigan is 0-1 after losing to Butler and having its game against Trine cancelled. The Broncos haven’t won a game since March 3 of last season and B. Artis White could be a problem but Michigan State’s defense will step up here.

Michigan State is going to shut down the Broncos and hold them to under 60 points as the defense continues to gain momentum. Rocket Watts also scores 25.

Final Score: Western Michigan 54, Michigan State 84 (5-0)

Virginia looks like one of those teams that may suffer a bad early-season loss and then look unbeatable by the end of the year. Tony Bennett is an elite coach so it really wouldn’t surprise me if that was the case and these Cavaliers went on to win the ACC.

But for now, they’re still searching for their identity. They are still elite defensively, but that offense is still figuring itself out. Michigan State will keep it close and have a chance to win late, but the suffocating defense of Virginia will be the difference and turnovers will doom the green and white.
