A 1-3 start to the season has some fans doubting Michigan State football’s future with Mel Tucker. Not so fast, Spartan fans.

Michigan State suffered yet another tough loss on Saturday, dropping its record to 1-3 on the year. To add insult to injury, the famous Old Brass Spittoon is leaving East Lansing in the hands of the Hoosiers for the first time in three years.

A 24-0 loss to Indiana was not on the radar heading into the season, but the Spartans are undergoing a massive rebuild under a new coaching staff.

Some fans have jumped off the Mel Tucker bandwagon for some reason or another, expecting instant results in a year when he got maybe a month to actually practice with his team out of an entire offseason, including spring ball. His time with the team has been limited and he took over after National Signing Day.

Give the man a break.

Plus, he brought Paul Bunyan home when no one thought he would, beating Michigan on the road in his first season, becoming the first coach to do so in year one since Nick Saban.

Michigan State learned quite a bit from the loss to Indiana and I have some hot takes from the game on Saturday afternoon.

Here are three that many might not agree with.
