Michigan State Football: One bold prediction for each 2020 game
Prediction: MSU has two 100-yard receivers
Michigan State will be lucky to follow up two emotional wins against tough teams with a battle against one of the Big Ten’s bottom-dwellers.
Maryland is in the second year of Mike Locksley and he’s recruiting much better in College Park, but he’s still a couple of years away from competing. Especially on that defensive side of the ball that got gashed plenty last year.
With the offense starting to click at the right time, the Spartans will have two guys break out and finish with over 100 receiving yards in this one. I’m going with Tre Mosley and Jayden Reed.
Prediction: Theo Day has a career game
Yes, I’m predicting Theo Day will take over as QB1 after the season opener against Rutgers and he won’t look back. This is purely a prediction.
In that case, he’s going to have a huge game against a Northwestern defense that took a major step back in 2019. He’s going to have his way with that secondary much like Brian Lewerke did in 2017 to the tune of 300 yards and three touchdowns.
Will Michigan State win? I believe so, but it’s going to be another tight game against an opponent that Michigan State always seems to have tough battles with.
