The 2020 Michigan State football season is upon us and there will be surprises just about everywhere. Let’s get bold ahead of the season’s kickoff.

Talk about a long offseason. Never before have Michigan State fans suffered through such an offseason that was filled with such a roller-coaster of emotions like this before (except for maybe after 2016) but that’s what happens when you go through an unexpected coaching change and the on-again, off-again Big Ten season.

For months, fans didn’t know if there would be a 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic but it looked like business as usual heading into summer workouts.

Mel Tucker was finally getting to know his players in person after a long offseason of Zoom calls following the cancellation of spring ball. And then the Big Ten announced that it would be postponing the fall season until spring.

Michigan State players were mostly upset at the news, but they got to work in conditioning as if it were an extended offseason. And then a month later, the Big Ten announced it would be returning in a limited capacity with an eight-game regular season beginning on Oct. 23.

The Spartans got a favorable matchup with Rutgers to open the season but the rest of the schedule isn’t as kind.

What could we see from Michigan State this season? Let’s get bold.
