Michigan State basketball unveiled a fresh uniform concept ahead of the 2020-21 season and it’s been met with mixed reviews.

New year, new look. Michigan State unveiled a fresh uniform concept ahead of the 2020-21 season on Thursday morning and, well, they’re pretty slick.

Not everyone has been a fan of the new look but how could you not be?

In case you haven’t seen the new uniforms yet, they’re a nice combination of the script ‘State’ concept and the 2000s throwbacks from the national title season.

Check them out:

The sides are perfect with that 2000s throwback feel and the ‘State’ on the front is nowhere near as hideous as the one from the neon green football alternates that were unveiled during the 2019 season. This is a fresh look that we haven’t quite seen yet and the combination just works.

The only issue I have with these uniforms is the size of the Spartan logo on the left side of the shorts. If the Spartan head was a little more subtle, this uniform would be a solid 9.2/10.

If this doesn’t get you excited for the return of college basketball next month, what will? Sure, you may not be able to see these jerseys in person, but at least they’ll look good on TV on a team that just won its third straight Big Ten title.

What do you think of the new uniform concept? Are you a fan or was it a big swing and a miss by Michigan State and Nike?
