I might get knocked for this one, but I’ve been on the Marcus Bingham Jr. bandwagon for quite some time now. I’ve always believed that his ceiling was incredibly high and it’d be a shock if he wasn’t a star by the time he left Michigan State.

Honestly, I still believe this. I think he could have an Adreian Payne-like jump this season, becoming a threat inside and out and sure he may need to add a little weight, but his potential is through the roof. He has an endless ceiling.

All that being said, a few things have to happen this offseason for him to truly become a star next year.

  1. Gain weight.
  2. Work on 3-point shot.
  3. Work on post game offensively.

If he can do all three of those things, he’s going to be a problem. He has the ability to shoot, but he was horrid as a sophomore. If he can hit around 35 percent of his threes this season, that’d be huge for the Spartans.

Putting on weight will also help with No. 3.

Bingham Jr. is close to a breakout and with Xavier Tillman gone, this is his chance to shine.
