One of the new faces for Michigan State in 2020-21 will also enter the starting lineup as the power forward.

Last season, the power forward position was shuffled around between a few players with Xavier Tillman starting at center. That’s when Joey Hauser was ineligible. Now that he’s eligible for his junior season, he’ll get the nod at the four.

As a redshirt freshman for Marquette in 2018-19, Hauser had a huge impact and averaged 9.7 points and 5.3 rebounds with 2.4 assists, showing that he can be a playmaker in the post. He can also stretch the floor, shooting about 43 percent from deep and 46 percent from the floor.

Hauser can be one of the leaders in the starting lineup and Tom Izzo has spoken highly of him, claiming that he’s a future pro.

If Michigan State can get 10-plus points per game from Hauser and he can work on his defense, this will be a massive upgrade at the power forward spot from a year ago.
