Michigan State football is hoping some guys step up in 2020 but there are a few who may be feeling more pressure than the rest.

We are heading into a new era of Michigan State football and with a new coaching staff comes new expectations. New players will also have to step up and prove that they’re capable of carrying the load that was once expected of them under Mark Dantonio’s reign.

Every player on the roster wants to prove themselves to the new coaching staff but some have already done that on film. Others who have been quiet for a couple of seasons in East Lansing and may be facing a make-or-break 2020 season will be aiming to impress the new staff when camps begin this fall.

When you think about players who must prove themselves, you have to think first about a new quarterback. While there are some younger gunslingers in the system, the veteran quarterback who has learned for years as the backup needs to prove he can be QB1.

Defensive standouts are also important, especially in an offseason that saw plenty of attrition from all-conference type of players.

The Spartans have plenty of question marks heading into the season and guys who are tough to judge through a few years in the system and they’ll want to step up and prove that they’re going to lead the way in 2020.

Which Spartans have the most to prove in 2020?
