Michigan State football is heading into a rebuilding phase with underrated players who are on the verge of becoming stars in 2020.

When you think of programs that have been built on under-the-radar guys who rise up and become stars, Michigan State is one of the first that comes to mind.

Over the years, Mark Dantonio has built Michigan State into a consistent winner while recruiting two and three-star guys and turning them into NFL draft picks. Just look at the track record. Guys like Darqueze Dennard, Kirk Cousins, Connor Cook, Shilique Calhoun, Le’Veon Bell, Jeremy Langford, Joe Bachie, Jack Conklin and Trae Waynes were all lowly-rated recruits and wound up becoming stars in East Lansing.

There’s a new man in charge of the program, but the players remaining on the roster all come from the Dantonio era.

Mel Tucker has some talent to work with, but we’ll find out quickly just how good the new head coach is at developing three-star guys into all-conference performers and NFL draft picks.

Heading into the 2020 season, Michigan State has a handful of positions to fill and voids on the depth chart, but that doesn’t mean talent is missing. Underrated guys will still rise up.

Which three players will go from unheralded to stars in 2020?
