Michigan State Basketball: Top 10 moments from 2019-20 season
5. Cassius Winston’s half-court heave vs. Maryland
From beyond half court this season, Cassius Winston was money. He hit a shot from beyond half court shortly before the Maryland game which came after the buzzer but still had the crowd buzzing and he’s not stranger to hitting that shot.
Heck, Cassius practices those half-court heaves and makes them on a regular basis — he even made one back in 2017 against Nebraska before the half.
Let’s set the scene here. Michigan State saw its lead cut down to eight against Maryland near the end of the first half and the Terrapins looked to be grabbing the momentum, but Cassius took an inbound pass with under two seconds left, dribbled once and heaved the ball about 5-10 feed behind midcourt and drained the shot to give the Spartans an 11-point advantage.
His reaction was also priceless.

Did this shot recapture the momentum for Michigan State? It sure felt like that as the Spartans came out in the second half and played just as well as they did in the first, winning by 12 and pulling within a game of Maryland.
