Michigan State football’s offseason may be put on hold, but that doesn’t change the fact that there are some position battles to sort out.

Everything is put on hold, spring practices and the scrimmage have been cancelled and even recruiting has taken a backseat because of these unforeseen circumstances.

Michigan State is in an interesting situation with a brand new coaching staff and no commits in the 2021 recruiting class. It’s been a quiet time for Michigan State football, but things will get back to normal soon enough (as long as people continue to socially distance).

Mel Tucker has some decisions to make regarding his depth chart heading into next season. He has some key positions to fill out as battles will start to truly take shape this summer when teams get back to campus after one heck of a long break.

Will he have the depth necessary to create competition at these key positions or will the roster be too thinned out?
