Michigan State basketball travels to Maryland seeking revenge for an earlier defeat at the Breslin Center. Will the Spartans pull off the win?

There’s a big game brewing in College Park on Saturday as No. 24 Michigan State is in town to face No. 9 Maryland in a rematch of a thriller just a couple of weeks ago.

The Spartans had a seven-point lead over the Terps with about three minutes left before allowing Anthony Cowan to catch fire and engineer a 14-0 run. Michigan State must stop the talented point guard on Saturday night if it wants to come away with a big win.

Moreover, a win would bring the Spartans within one game of first place in the conference standings with a tie for first still possible.

Let’s get bold ahead of Saturday’s game.

3. Aaron Henry remains hot

Aaron Henry is teetering on the edge of a double-digit scoring average but needs a big game on Saturday night to get there (he’s currently at 9.9 points per game).

And he’ll do just that.

Tom Izzo mentioned after the Iowa game that he’s been impressed with Henry’s play lately and he’s starting to piece together a solid stretch of games. His confidence is on the rise and so is his ability to slash to the lane and score on easy layups or those patented one-handed turnaround shots from about five feet out.

Henry has scored in double figures in four of the past five games and has shot 50 percent over the last two. He’s just 2-for-8 from three in the last two games and that’ll improve on Saturday as he’ll hit three big 3-pointers.

The sophomore wing will stay hot and finish with 16 points on over 50 percent shooting.
