Michigan State football’s coaching search has been on everyone’s mind lately and the Luke Fickell watch is officially out of control.

For Michigan State fans, coaching searches are something they’re used to. Which is probably a good thing.

Many believe Luke Fickell will be the Spartans’ next coach and social media has been buzzing ever since Mark Dantonio shockingly announced his retirement. “Fickell Watch” has been downright ridiculous over the past week from tracking flights, checking Wikipedia pages, stalking Twitter accounts and now, apparently, looking at the shoes of people on a private jet.

Obviously this is as whacky as it gets and there’s no way fans are supposed to assume that these two sets of shoes belong to Fickell and his wife.

But that hasn’t stopped Spartan Twitter from having some fun.

Michigan State’s The Athletic reporter Colton Pouncey also tweeted that Bill Beekman’s private jet landed in Lansing but Fickell was not on the plane with him.

Whoever those shoes belong to just set Michigan State Twitter on fire. Maybe it was Fickell meeting with Beekman at the private jet just before it left back to East Lansing, or maybe it was nothing of importance, but this is the biggest story of the day which just goes to show that Fickell Watch is officially out of control.

Will Fickell be the next head coach at Michigan State? Time will tell and we could know sometime this week but the Spartans seem to be all in on him as the next guy.
