3. Rocket Watts scores career-high

The last time Michigan State and Northwestern met, Rocket Watts was out with an injury and had to watch as the Spartans began Big Ten play without him.

Michigan State didn’t have much of a problem with the Wildcats, but the Spartans could have used some extra help at guard. That’s where Watts comes in.

Fully healthy and playing the best basketball of his young career, Watts has scored in double figures in three of the past four games and is shooting 13-of-25 in that span, including 6-for-14 from distance. He’s also a perfect 4-for-4 from the charity stripe and looks like a much more confident offensive threat.

Watts’ defense has never been an issue and if his offense can match that, he’s going to be a dangerous player. Luckily for the Spartans, he’s getting to that point.

Continuing his hot streak, Watts will record a double-figure scoring attack for the fourth time in five games and this time, he’ll set a career-high with 15 points to go along with four assists.
