Michigan State football is going bowling this season and that means there are a couple of different potential destinations for the Spartans.

If you were hoping for a warm-weather bowl this season, you’re going to be let down.

Michigan State fans may travel well to the two potential bowl destinations because they’re close by, but it would also be unsurprising if there’s little desire to stay in the cold for a “vacation”.

So where could the Spartans be headed?

There’s an overwhelming feeling that Michigan State is headed to New York for the Pinstripe Bowl against a team like Pitt. Just imagine the matchup between Mark Dantonio and his former right-hand man Pat Narduzzi. The two had plenty of success side-by-side, winning the Rose and Cotton Bowls together.

Ever since he left for Pitt, there’s been a feeling that Michigan State would hire him when Dantonio retires. Being the next Michigan State head coach may not be on his list of priorities right now, but if he can beat Dantonio, he’d prove that he’s more than worthy of taking over.

That might be thinking too far down the line since Dantonio has already said he’s coming back, but retirement seems to be looming.

If we’re looking at most likely scenario, it’s the Pinstripe Bowl on Dec. 27.

What is the other likely scenario?

Well, never thought I’d say this, but Michigan State could very well be headed to the Quick Lane Bowl in Detroit. The old Motor City Bowl was always the butt of the jokes, but it’s a very real possibility for the Spartans.

If Michigan State does go to the Quick Lane Bowl, it’s looking like a matchup with the ACC — maybe Florida State or Miami?
