The month of October was not kind to Michigan State football, but what will November bring for the Spartans. Hopefully some better results.

October was forgettable. Michigan State football struggled to find any sort of rhythm and a solid 4-1 beginning to the year was wiped away with three consecutive losses to top-10 teams, a rash of transfers and an unfortunate string of bad luck with even more injuries.

Brian Lewerke’s hot start to his senior season also turned cold as the fanbase began to question his abilities again. He played well against Ohio State, but struggled mightily versus Wisconsin and Penn State to close out the month — the latter performance came during a heavy rain, so throwing the ball would have been out of the question had MSU not trailed by 2-3 touchdowns.

That ugly month is now behind us which means we can focus on November and the Spartans potentially closing the year on a high note.

It’ll take a win over Michigan to truly make fans happy, but even then, that could mean an 8-4 regular season finish at best and Mark Dantonio felt the heat for a seven-win season in 2018. Plus, bringing almost everyone back was supposed to help. With Rutgers, Illinois and Maryland left on the schedule, this should be a favorable month.

Will be results be waiting for this team in November?
