Saturday night’s Michigan State vs Ohio State game will be a measuring stick to see how far each team is from contending for the Big Ten title.

Zero. Zilch. Nada. Those are the numbers that equate the chances Michigan State has been given by the national media against Ohio State on Saturday evening.

Sure, the Spartans seem to have more question marks than the Buckeyes heading into this one, but the fact that no one is giving Michigan State a shot is reason enough to pull off the unthinkable. The Spartans could really shock the college football world with a win in Columbus.

It would take a herculean effort from Brian Lewerke, Elijah Collins and that defense, though. Mark Dantonio has already admitted that his Spartans need to play a perfect game if they’re going to pull off the upset. Even a perfect game against this red-hot team may not quite be enough.

Justin Fields may be one of the best quarterbacks in the country and JK Dobbins is in the middle of a bounce-back campaign. The Buckeye defense is also on an elite level.

Michigan State wants to prove everyone wrong in one fell swoop and it could happen just like it did in 2015 when no one thought the Spartans, led by backup quarterbacks, would beat the top-five ranked Buckeyes.
