Michigan State football opens the 2019 season on Friday evening against Tulsa. Let’s get bold ahead of the fresh campaign.

It’s been one of those offseasons for Michigan State. No, nothing crazy has happened off the field to put a dark cloud over the program, but rather it’s one that has lasted for far too long, especially after how disappointing the 2018 season was with a number of question marks still.

The Spartans finished 7-6 but there were doubts about everything from health affecting the record as well as the offense being the only thing standing between them and a New Year’s Six berth. If Michigan State had remained healthy throughout and the offense kept momentum from Week 1 on, we could be talking about completely different 2019 expectations.

But that didn’t happen.

Even with a 7-6 finish to the 2018 season, fans and even some national media members are predicting a bounce-back year for the Spartans.

If Brian Lewerke, Cody White, the offensive and defensive lines and defensive backfield can finally stay healthy while finding a decent run game, the Spartans will shock some people. Those are some major ifs, though.

The 2019 season is essentially upon us, so let’s get bold.
