Rumors were circulating about Rocket Watts not reporting and it looks like Michigan State basketball will get him on campus sooner rather than later.

Although he had signed his letter of intent after the early signing period, Michigan State basketball has been waiting for talented four-star freshman Rocket Watts to report to campus.

It’s not like he’s been a no-show for any serious reasons, but he’s been working out with some big names this offseason, including former Spartan point guard and current Detroit Piston Kalin Lucas.

Some has started rumors about Watts’ eligibility saying that he may not get to campus until late August despite the rest of the freshman class already reporting. Some have said he needs to finish up some classes and Watts dispelled any rumors about his eligibility, stating on Twitter that he’s excited to get to school next week.

Watts is one of the most exciting recruits Tom Izzo has landed in a while because he can be an elite scorer for the Spartans off the bench. He’s not expected to start right away but he could be an elite sixth man for the green and white.

Michigan State players are gearing up for the Moneyball Pro-Am which starts on Thursday and Watts was listed on one of the rosters. It’s the first opportunity for fans to see what all the hype is about and now that the air has been cleared, Watts can just focus on impressing his new teammates and coaches.
