Now that spring practice is in the books, we have a better feel for Michigan State football and its 2019 outlook. Let’s make some predictions.

How can Michigan State bounce back from a disappointing 7-6 season in 2018? The Spartans were expected to do big things in the preseason but didn’t live up to expectations, though injuries did take a toll on the team.

From Brian Lewerke to Felton Davis III to Josiah Scott, the Spartans couldn’t seem to stay healthy and that weighed on the overall season outlook.

The offense still had plenty of problems even past the injuries and that led Mark Dantonio to reshuffle his staff and make an offensive coordinator change from Dave Warner to Brad Salem which had apparently been paying dividends in spring practice.

Fans got a good look at the alleged new-and-improved offense this spring as well as the defensive which had to replace Justin Layne, Khari Willis and Andrew Dowell. The Spartans looked better but spring ball still left us with plenty of question marks. We still have a better grasp on the team in general after seeing them perform in the Green-White Game.

Let’s predict the Spartans’ 2019 schedule following spring ball.
