1. Kenny Goins makes the biggest shot of his career

When these teams first met a couple of weeks ago, the Wolverines had a tough time defending the perimeter as Kenny Goins was able to make some big buckets from deep.

This time around, they’ll put more emphasis on stopping that newfound deadly shot from Goins who has made teams pay — most recently Nebraska — for giving him even an inch of space. The Wolverines will do a decent job of it, for the most part, as he’ll make a three early and then another a few minutes into the second half, but he’ll be held to just two until the final minutes.

That’s when he’ll step up to hit the biggest shot of his Michigan State career — yes, bigger than the 3-pointer than iced the game at Wisconsin.

Goins will get the ball on a drive-and-kick from Cassius Winston at the top of the perimeter with 30 seconds to play and the Spartans up by one and he’ll drain a 3-pointer to extend the lead to four, forcing the Wolverines to scramble late.

Michigan will come right back and score quickly, but Goins’ three will be remembered as the one that gave the Spartans enough momentum to get the win in the final minute. He’ll go out on Senior Day with a memorable shot and a second straight win over Michigan, 72-71.
