3. Michigan, MSU earn rematch for Big Ten tourney title

The Big Ten Tournament has been Michigan’s baby for the past two seasons and after just missing out on a regular season title because of a sweep by archrival Michigan State, the Wolverines are going to treat the 2019 version like a must-win event.

March has been John Beilein’s best month for the past few years and he’s going to get another chance to take down Michigan State after the Spartans have picked up back-to-back wins in the rivalry for the first time since 2015-16 into 2016-17.

The Spartans will be a 1-seed in the conference tourney because they hold the tie-breaker over Purdue and the Wolverines will be the 3-seed. That will pin Michigan against Purdue in a potential semifinal matchup which I believe will favor the Wolverines. If that’s the case, Michigan will earn another trip to the title game with Michigan State.

Don’t get me wrong, Michigan State will have a tough road to the title game, but it will remain focused as a rematch with Michigan will be on the Spartans’ minds.

They’ll get it, but this time Michigan will get the better of the green and white, winning their third straight conference tourney title in thrilling, one-point win fashion.
