B-. . F. Senior. KENNY GOINS

It’s safe to say Kenny Goins did not have one of his best games as a Spartan. The senior forward had some sloppy turnovers and was burned a few times on the defensive end.

Goins did finish with a game-high 12 rebounds and was one of the reasons the Spartans didn’t look lost on the glass without Nick Ward present. He was aggressive on the boards and his defense got stronger in the second half after a shaky first 20 minutes.

On offense, Goins struggled the most. He missed some bunnies and was just 2-for-7 from the field but he did grab five offensive boards and finished with five points. His 3-point make in the second half was a back-breaker as it put the Spartans up by 12 with about five minutes left, essentially closing the door on any comeback hope for Rutgers.

Even Goins would tell you that he didn’t play his best game, finishing with a team-high four turnovers and picking up three fouls.
