1. Spartans win by double figures

Capitalizing on a strong defensive effort with the Spartans holding Maryland under 65 points, the offense will get out and run early and often and top the 75-point mark and win by double-digits. This will mark the Spartans’ sixth double-digit win in Big Ten play in eight tries.

Maryland is a good team, don’t get me wrong, but the Terrapins haven’t faced a team the caliber of Michigan State in Big Ten play with its toughest opponent being either Nebraska, Purdue, Ohio State or Wisconsin. They won at Ohio State and snuck by Indiana and Nebraska at home but lost to Purdue on the road.

It’s tough to tell if this team is a contender or a beneficiary of a favorable early-Big Ten schedule.

I think this team will be a contender, but winning in East Lansing is a tough thing to do for any opponent, let alone one which has only played Purdue, Rutgers, Minnesota and Ohio State on the road, losing the former.

Next. Report card for MSU win at Nebraska. dark

Michigan State will play great defense, feed off the crowd and race out to a seven-point halftime lead before winning the second half by five. It’ll finish with a 77-64 win and improve to 8-0 in the Big Ten and 17-2 overall.
