Michigan State vs Northwestern live stream: Watch Week 9 Big Ten battle online
Wednesday night’s Michigan State vs Northwestern game may not have much flash, but it could wind up being closer than expected.
It’s hard to believe the new year is here and non-conference play is in the books, but Michigan State has a chance to improve to 3-0 in Big Ten action on Wednesday night against Northwestern.
The Wildcats have one of the best defenses in the conference, holding opponents to under 65 points per game but the offense isn’t exactly putting up big points outside of Vic Law who averages 18.9 per contest. He is a serious Big Ten Player of the Year candidate and could give the Spartans a tough time in East Lansing.
On the other side, Cassius Winston is also a Big Ten Player of the Year possibility. He’s having the best season of his career and the Spartan offense runs as he does. He has fellow juniors Nick Ward and Josh Langford to keep the offense running beside him.
Michigan State is looking to push forth toward a Big Ten title while the Wildcats are aiming to earn their first conference win of the season. Northwestern may be slightly better than its record indicates and a couple of two-point Big Ten losses could have gone the other way.
Here’s how you can watch Wednesday’s Michigan State vs. Northwestern game:
Date: Wednesday, Jan. 2
Time: 8:30 p.m. ET
Location: East Lansing, Mich.
Venue: Spartan Stadium

Can the Spartans improve to 3-0 in conference play with a nice win over Northwestern or will the Wildcats end their Big Ten winless streak? Wednesday evening’s battle could be a close one, but the Spartans have been playing well for the past few weeks since a close call against Florida in Gainesville.
