3. LJ Scott goes out on top, breaks 100 yards

When was the last time we saw LJ Scott rush for over 100 yards and look like his old self? Not since Dec. 28 of last year when the Spartans smacked Washington State in the Holiday Bowl. He finished with 110 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries and added two receptions for 26 yards.

After that game, he announced he was coming back for his senior year and there was plenty of hope and the expectations were at an all-time high.

People were already speculating just how high his rushing total would be for 2019, but he couldn’t gain any traction from Week 1 on, finishing the regular season with only 180 yards and no touchdowns on 55 carries. He played in just four regular season games and looked to be using a redshirt to come back for a fifth season since this one didn’t quite work out for him.

Scott changed his mind recently and revealed he would be playing in the final game, burning that redshirt and heading to the NFL after the season. This means he will need a huge game in order to improve that dropping draft status.

Another 100 yards in a bowl game can’t hurt as Scott will finally be healthy after sitting out since Oct. 27 against Purdue. He’ll finish with 115 yards and a score, putting his name back on the map.
