2. New offensive coordinator

For all of the Dave Warner apologists out there, you may want to skip this wish. The Spartan offense has been mediocre ever since Connor Cook left East Lansing and a big part of that is the co-offensive coordinator — Jim Bollman isn’t helping matters, either.

The play-calling is stale, predictable and unimaginative. Mark Dantonio trusts his co-offensive coordinator a little too much, though, and that’s what has led to one of the worst offensive seasons in school history which is uncalled for seeing as the Spartans returned most of their starters from that side of the ball from a 10-win team.

You finish with 10 wins and 40-plus points in a bowl win and you regress to a seven-win squad that ranks second-to-last in the Big Ten in most offensive categories? That’s a fireable offense.

Dantonio may not fire Warner, but re-position him as a different coach and Bollman may think about retiring, opening the door for a new coordinator. Could it be Don Treadwell who was once the OC under Dantonio and even head coached the game after his heart attack back in 2012?

It’s possible and it would be welcomed, but any change would be more than a wish come true for Spartan fans.
