The holiday season is upon us and Michigan State basketball has plenty to wish for. What should the Spartans have on their wish list for 2019?

The 2018 calendar year is coming to a close and the holiday season is upon us. Everyone has their wish list of items they want for the holidays but sometimes those don’t quite come to fruition.

Some wishes are for gifts and other times they’re for things money can’t buy — good health and good luck in 2019 is a common one.

Michigan State basketball has more of the latter. The Spartans are looking to have a multitude of wishes come true for the 2019 calendar year, and it’ll start with some March Madness fortune.

What tops the Spartans’ wish list for 2019?

5. Michigan State lands Isaiah Stewart

This is the top wish on every recruiting follower’s list as the Spartans have a couple spots left in their 2019 class as Rocket Watts and Malik Hall headline the two so far — only Hall has signed, though. If Michigan State wants to finish the class strong after missing out on Vernon Carey Jr., reeling Stewart would be ideal.

Trayce Jackson-Davis picked Indiana just a couple weeks before Carey Jr. committed to Duke and that leaves Stewart as the highest priority for Tom Izzo.

Stewart may choose to pick a school away from Carey Jr. because they play the exact same position and that would cause a split in minutes, more than likely. As one of the top-five players in the nation, this doesn’t seem like a desire for Stewart.

Michigan State has to bank on the idea that Stewart doesn’t want to share minutes and touches in the post with a fellow five-star. This is a major wish for the green and white.
