Michigan State’s 25 wishes list continues today and will run for the next two and a half weeks. What is the No. 15 wish for all Spartan fans?

Here is wish No. 15 on our Michigan State fan wish list as we count down to wish No. 1.

Wish No. 15

A trio of Michigan State teams make it back to the NCAA Tournament in 2019.

The women’s basketball team, the baseball team and the hockey team all failed to qualify for the NCAA Tournament last season. The women’s basketball team after making the NCAA Tournament from 2013-15, have only qualified for the tournament once since then and that was a second round loss to Kansas in 2017.

The Spartan baseball team did not qualify for the NCAA Tournament last season and has not played in the tourney since 2012 when it lost to Pepperdine in the opening round.

The Michigan State hockey team, like the baseball program, has not been to the NCAA Tournament since 2012 when it lost in the first round. However, this season there is hope for all three teams.

The women’s basketball team looks to be on their way to qualifying the NCAA Tournament. They are currently 8-1 with quality wins over Virginia in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge and an upset over No. 3 ranked Oregon.  Their only loss up to this point is against North Carolina State which occurred in the Cancun Challenge.

The Michigan State baseball team is looking to bounce back from a disappointing season. Michigan State is expected to returns eight starters from last season’s team. Head coach Jake Boss has been leading the program since July of 2008 and with a tough schedule this upcoming season hopes to get the Spartans back in the NCAA Tournament which they have not been to since 2012.

The Spartan hockey team has more of an uphill climb than the other two teams mentioned. They are currently 6-9-1 but they have some quality wins and five of their last since games have been on the road. If they can win the Great Lakes Invitational in late December and finish in the top-tier of the Big Ten standings, they have a chance of making the NCAA Tournament.
