3. Cassius Winston completes the double-double

Is Tom Izzo playing Cassius Winston into the ground? The Hall of Fame head coach admitted earlier this week that he was worried he was playing his point guard too much and it could wind up burning him out by the end of the Big Ten season.

However, he hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down just yet, at least not at the offensive end. He’s averaging 31 minutes per game and is second on the team with 16.8 points per game to go along with 7.7 assists.

Winston has been one of the most consistent performers on the team this season and could be a walking double-double if he truly wanted to.

On Saturday, he’s going to do what he couldn’t against Iowa and complete the double-double, scoring 15 points to go along with 11 assist and only two turnovers.

The Spartans seem to go as he does and that will lead them to an effective offensive showing — a previously-mentioned 3-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio will help, too.
