Michigan State football travels to Lincoln this Saturday to take on Nebraska. The Spartans look to get their season back on track vs. the Cornhuskers.

The Spartans look to avenge their 2015 one-point loss to the Cornhuskers on Saturday. Nebraska is led by head coach Scott Frost who has had a rough start to his coaching tenure in Nebraska. The Cornhuskers lost six straight games before halting the skid Minnesota but Nebraska seems to always give MSU a tough game no matter what season it is.

True freshman quarterback Adrian Martinez (no relation to brothers Drake or Taylor Martinez) is the key to making this offense go. Frost a one-time offensive coordinator at Oregon when they went to national championship in 2014. Martinez has tossed 15 touchdown passes but does have seven interceptions. He also can beat you with his legs much like Nebraska-great Taylor Martinez.

Senior Stanley Morgan Jr. leads the team in receiving yards with 856 yards while sophmore JD Spielman is a close second with 818 yards. They are one of the Big Ten’s most explosive wide receiver tandems. Also, Nebraska has an explosive running game with senior Devine Ozigbo, who has 958 yards rushing.

This is one of the more dangerous teams to be playing in November in my opinion. While the Spartans should win this game, it is difficult to write that with any conviction.

Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio has not publicly stated which quarterback he will start on Saturday. Junior Brian Lewerke has been hurt for a few weeks and redshirt freshman Rocky Lombardi did not have a good game against Ohio State.

There are many more questions on offense than on defense. The offense is unable to get a push and they are missing their star senior wide receiver Felton Davis III after an Achilles injury. The defense is elite, however.. Nebraska does not have a stout defense, as it allowed Illinois to score 35 points.

The Spartan defense has been known this season to allow big plays. If they give Nebraska a crease then they could take it to the house. This will be a close game going into the fourth quarter. However, the Cornhuskers have had trouble closing games out.

Prediction: MSU 24, Nebraska 21
