Michigan State football travels to Lincoln to face a suddenly-hot Nebraska team. Can the Spartans take care of the 3-7 Cornhuskers?

It’s been a rough season for Michigan State. First, the Spartans lost on the road to Arizona State in non-conference play, then at home to Northwestern followed by defeats against Ohio State and Michigan in East Lansing. These are games that this 10-win squad from a season ago imagined winning before the year started, but things haven’t gone the Spartans’ way.

Injuries have played a hand in the Spartans’ disappointing 6-4 record, but so, too, has the lackluster offense with no run game, a quarterback who has been battling shoulder issues and confidence problems and an offensive line with no consistency in sight.

Michigan State will get a chance to win its seventh game of the year against a 3-7 Nebraska team that began the season 0-6. The Cornhuskers’ three wins, though, are against Minnesota, Bethune-Cookman and Illinois — they aren’t back yet.

Scott Frost will have his guys ready for this monster matchup at home while Mark Dantonio will keep the Spartans laser-focused on the road.

What can we expect from Michigan State vs. Nebraska?

5. Cody White accounts for 150 receiving yards

Cody White has had himself an interesting season. After starting the season red-hot with nearly 300 yards and two touchdowns in the first four games, he suffered a set-back as he broke his hand against Central Michigan in Week 4.

White missed four games and during that span, the Spartans also lost star wide out Felton Davis III for the year.

Since returning, he’s been back to his normal self. He had just two catches for 20 yards in his first contest back, but followed that up with eight receptions for 115 yards. He’s going to top that mark in his third game back, totaling 150-plus yards and a touchdown on 10 catches.

Michigan State will rely heavily on the sophomore wide out from Novi and he’s going to deliver with his best game of the season.
