Michigan State Basketball: Game-by-game predictions for 2018-19
By Ryan Kay
Nov. 22: vs. UCLA (Las Vegas Invitational)
A Thanksgiving evening matchup between two blue blood programs that starts the two day Las Vegas Invitational. This will be a closer game than expected and look for someone like Cassius Winston to hit a last-second shot to give the Spartans the victory.
Prediction: Victory for MSU (5-0)
Nov. 23: vs. North Carolina/Texas (Las Vegas Invitational)
It all depends on who plays in this one. If the Spartans play Texas, Michigan State’s depth wins out and the green and white easily defeat the Longhorns. However, I see Michigan State playing the Tar Heels in this one and I see revenge on the mind of Roy Williams and his North Carolina squad. This will be the first game that the green and white faithful will be missing Jaren Jackson Jr. and Miles Bridges. North Carolina wins this one by eight and gives Michigan State its first loss of the season.
Prediction: Loss (5-1)
Nov. 27: at Louisville (ACC/Big Ten Challenge)
The annual ACC/Big Ten Challenge showdown has the Spartans on the road against Louisville. Usually, a tougher matchup for the Spartans and some may think that new coach Chris Mack will turn everything around for Louisville and he may do so but not this season. Michigan State wins by nine in this one.
Prediction: Victory for MSU (6-1)
