The Terrapins have been dealing with distractions all week long whether it’s been Durkin’s reinstatement for about 24 hours and then firing or players reportedly getting into physical altercations. It’s been a whirlwind of a week for Maryland (5-3), but the Terrapins must remain focused ahead of a crucial Michigan State (5-3) game.
The Spartans come to town with a disappointing 5-3 record though they have dealt with a rash of injuries to the extent Mark Dantonio has never seen. This team just can’t seem to stay healthy, but they may be getting Cody White and Josiah Scott back against the Terrapins in College Park.
Brian Lewerke may be out another game, giving way to Rocky Lombardi again, but the Spartans still face a tough challenge in a strong pass defense from the Terrapins. Michigan State must slow down Maryland’s run game if it wants to come away with a victory, and that shouldn’t be too difficult thanks to a defense that continues to improve by the week.
