October is almost in the books and it’s time to look ahead to the highlighted games for the end of the month and beginning of November for Michigan State athletics.

The final week of October and first weekend of November will be a crucial one for Michigan State athletics as men’s basketball, hockey, volleyball, football, women’s basketball and men’s soccer all face big-time matchups with major implications.

Let’s take a look at the upcoming schedule.

Michigan State Men’s Basketball

When: Tuesday, Oct. 30
Where: East Lansing, Mich. — Breslin Center
Game Time: 7 p.m. ET
Opponent: Northern Michigan
TV/Streaming: BTN Plus
Significance: Only official exhibition game for the Spartans
Who’s Up Next: Regular season opener vs. No. 1 ranked Kansas Champions Classic

Michigan State Women’s Volleyball

When: Wednesday, Oct. 31
Where: West Lafayette, Ind.
Game Time: 7 p.m. ET
Opponent: Purdue
TV/Streaming: BTN2Go
Significance: After going 12-1 in non-conference play, the Lady Spartans have really struggled in Big Ten Play with only three victories. A win against Purdue would help tremendously.
Who’s Up Next: Another Big Ten road trip but this time against the Lady Gophers of Minnesota

Michigan State Women’s Basketball

When: Thursday, Nov. 1
Where: East Lansing, Mich. — Breslin Center
Game Time: 7 p.m. ET
Opponent: Hillsdale
TV/Streaming: BTN Plus
Significance: Only official exhibition game for the Lady Spartans
Who’s Up Next:  Season and home opener against the Lady Falcons of Bowling Green

Michigan State Men’s Hockey

When: Friday, Nov. 2
Where: East Lansing, Michigan/Munn Ice Arena
Game Time: 7 p.m. ET
Opponent: Ferris State
TV/Streaming: BTN Plus
Significance: The Spartans look to go 4-1 on the season with a victory over the visiting Bulldogs
Who’s Up Next:   Michigan State travels to Big Rapids, Michigan the next day to take on Ferris State.

Michigan State Football

When: Saturday, Nov. 3
Where: College Park, Md. — Maryland Stadium
Game Time: 12 p.m. ET
Opponent: Maryland
TV/Streaming: ESPN 2 or WatchESPN
Significance: Michigan State looks to go 6-3 on the season with a victory over Maryland
Who’s Up Next:  The Spartans hosts ranked Ohio State at Spartan Stadium

Michigan State Men’s Soccer

When:  Sunday, Nov. 4
Where: East Lansing, Mich. — DeMartin Stadium
Game Time: 1 p.m. ET
Opponent: Maryland

Significance: The Spartans are the No. 4 seed taking on the No. 5 seed Terps in the Big Ten Tournament.
Who’s Up Next: If they win, the Spartans would more than likely play No. 1 seed Indiana in the semis.
