The 2018-19 Michigan State basketball season is right around the corner and here’s everything we can expect from the Spartans, and more.

Miles Bridges and Jaren Jackson Jr. are long gone but don’t fret, Michigan State basketball doesn’t exactly have a bare cupboard. The Spartans return Josh Langford, Cassius Winston and Nick Ward along with Matt McQuaid, Xavier Tillman, Kenny Goins and a finally healthy Kyle Ahrens.

On top of those returning pieces, the Spartans are adding a handful of freshmen who make up one of the most complete classes in recent memory.

Marcus Bingham Jr. is considered the prized recruit in the class and many believe he’s going to be a do-it-all threat like Jackson Jr. was — though they have different playing styles. Foster Loyer is Michigan’s reigning Mr. Basketball and the point guard will be a more offensive backup to Winston than Tum Tum Nairn was.

Aaron Henry is considered the most Big Ten-ready freshman on the team and both Gabe Brown and Thomas Kithier could have increasingly important roles this season.

Coming back from a tough loss to Syracuse in the round of 32 last season won’t be easy, but Tom Izzo has a talented squad returning and they’re ranked No. 10 in the preseason AP Top 25.
