Michigan State Football: 5 best Dantonio era moments in Michigan rivalry
4. Isaiah Lewis game-clinching pick-six (2011)
Denard Robinson and Michigan were driving down the field for a potential game-tying score in the fourth quarter, but Michigan State’s Isaiah Lewis said, “Not so fast.”
The game was much higher close to the end of the game than people had anticipated based on the first three quarters and there were plenty of Michigan State fans sweating it out as the Wolverines had some momentum on their side with the ball, starting a crucial drive.
With 4:40 left, Robinson dropped back, felt a rush on a double A-gap blitz up the middle and threw the ball off his back foot. Lewis picked off the rushed throw by Robinson and took it 38 yards for a touchdown.
This touchdown sealed the win for the Spartans, putting them up two touchdowns with about 4:30 left in the game and Robinson lacking any sense of confidence.
