Michigan State Football: Top 5 X-factors vs. Central Michigan in Week 5
By Stephen Robb
Last week, Jalen Nailor looked every bit the recruit Michigan State and Mark Dantonio knew he was, taking the handoff on a jet-sweep 75 yards in the fourth quarter. He was a track athlete in high school and he showed it in Bloomington.
Nailor also recorded his first touchdown reception, bullying defenders on the way to the end zone, showcasing strength as well. It’s as if he has an extra gear compared to most players.
The Bishop Gorman (Nev.) product has been turning heads in practice and now he is making a name for himself and push for playing time as a true freshman.
It’ll be interesting to see if MSU gets him more involved in punts and kickoffs. While sophomore Cody White has done a fine job on kickoffs and punts, the speedy Nailor would add another dimension.
Plus, Michigan State has struggled in special teams for a number of years.
