3. Felton Davis III makes a one-handed grab

I don’t think anyone, including the quarterback himself, would disagree that Brian Lewerke had an off game against the Hoosiers. Some of his throws looked to be far off target and he was either really accurate or way off the mark in Bloomington on Saturday night.

Luckily, the junior quarterback has receivers who can pick him up when he’s not having his best game. Felton Davis III is one of those guys and he had himself a strong showing, catching a team-high five passes for 79 yards. He didn’t reach the end zone, but he still had the catch of the game.

On the final drive before halftime, Lewerke had some time, took a step to his right and targeted Davis III near the sideline in Indiana territory. The throw was well off the mark, but his receiver made an improbable catch.

This is one of those catches that looks much more impressive in slow-motion, but it was still eye-popping in real time.

Davis III was able to remain focused on the ball despite having to stretch his right arm out over a defender to make the one-handed grab. This saved an incompletion and set up the touchdown right before halftime.
