Michigan State Football: 5 bold prediction vs. Arizona State in Week 2
2. Brian Lewerke throws for over 300 yards in homecoming
Coming home to play in front of family and friends for the first time as starting quarterback, Brian Lewerke is going to have the game of his young career.
No, it won’t quite be the 400-yard performances like he had against Penn State and Northwestern a season ago, but it’ll be close.
Lewerke is one of those rare dual-threat quarterbacks who doesn’t see a drop-off in arm strength or accuracy because of his ability to run. He’s going to keep the Sun Devils’ defense on its toes as they’ll step up to put pressure on him, but he’ll end up burning them deep with balls to Cody White and Felton Davis III down the field while dinking and dunking with Darrell Stewart Jr.
Coming just shy of 300 yards against Utah State wasn’t a shock because he didn’t pass the ball a ton, but we can expect between 30-40 passes against the Sun Devils with 340 yards and three touchdowns.
