  • Second-Team All-Big Ten (2015-17)
  • Three-time Academic All-Big Ten
  • Freshman All-American (2014)

Brian Allen doesn’t get quite as much credit as he deserves as a Spartan. He was a three-time Second-Team All-Big Ten selection and a former Freshman All-American, starting in all four of his years in East Lansing.

The former captain has since been drafted by the Los Angeles Rams, but the younger brother of All-American Jack Allen filled his sibling’s shoes perfectly.

Allen played multiple positions in his time at Michigan State, starting with guard, alongside his older brother Jack. He started 38 of 51 career games and 17 came at center, 16 at left guard and five at right guard. If that’s not the definition of versatile lineman, I don’t know what is.

Pro Football Focus was high on Allen in his senior season as they listed him as a first-team All-Big Ten selection and rated him the best center in the conference.

Allen’s leadership and hard-nosed attitude will be missed at Michigan State.
