5. Brian Lewerke finishes with over 4,000 all-purpose yards

I know what you’re thinking, reaching 4,000 yards for one player is almost unheard of at Michigan State, but hear me out.

Brian Lewerke finished the 2017 season with over 3,300 all-purpose yards and 25 touchdowns, so it’s not actually that crazy to think he’ll pass for over 3,500 yards and rush for over 500 yards yet again. That’s the beauty of having a dual-threat quarterback, he can move the chain in multiple ways and he’ll become Michigan State’s top offensive threat.

Think of it this way: Lewerke barely scratched the surface in 2017 and got off to a slow start before hitting his stride in the middle of the season and still nearly reached 3,500 total yards.

The last time a Michigan State quarterback had this type of offensive prowess, it was able to lead the green and white to a playoff run and Big Ten title.

It’s going to be a big year for Lewerke and he’ll soon become a household name for college football fans and a dark-horse Heisman contender.
