Michigan State Football: LJ Scott supports Jon Reschke return
Michigan State football may be welcoming Jon Reschke back amid controversy, but LJ Scott, and others, are supporting the decision.
Some things are just unforgivable. Jon Reschke found that out when he used a derogatory remark to describe his teammate before last season, leading to his departure from the program.

However, second chances are part of today’s society, though they’re rare. Reschke is the recipient of a second chance at Michigan State, working out with the team all summer and earning the support of his teammates regarding a return, per Mark Dantonio.
When Dantonio said his team was welcoming Reschke back with no hard feelings, it was normal for everyone to seem skeptical. The comments he made should never be uttered but if there was any doubt of support for Reschke’s return, LJ Scott shut that down at Big Ten Media Days.
Scott’s excitement for the return of his ‘brother’ was evident. He said that he hangs out with Reschke almost every day and he was ecstatic to have him back in the locker room.
Besides Scott, likely captain Khari Willis also supported the return of Reschke, going as far as to state that there was no wavering by anyone on the team.
This is what Dantonio wanted to see. He wanted to see his team come together and make the decision — he wasn’t going to make it for them.
Reschke being welcomed back with open arms is somewhat surprising for what he said about an African American teammate, but he will have to earn the jersey and won’t be on scholarship for the remainder of the 2018 season. His role with the team will also be an interesting one to monitor as he’s joining a loaded defense.
